Bart's had a tough life. Between caring for his out-of-work mom, helping out around the apartment complex, and taking boxing lessons for self-defense, there's little time to do the one thing he really loves: sing opera.
 
Bart loves opera, but of course it's a secret. What thirteen-year-old likes opera? But he tells his new friend Ada, and she actually wants to hear him sing! Of course, popular Ada can't keep a secret to save her life, and soon Bart's signed up for the school talent show. But her big mouth gets him into trouble when the school bullies begin following him home. With all of his secrets spilling out, Bart begins to realize that nothing will ever be the same again. And maybe that's a good thing.
